Heritage Museum of Montgomery County

The Heritage Museum of Montgomery County Texas is a great place to learn about the county’s past. The building was designed to bring back pleasant memories and inspire the next generation to appreciate the area’s history. It is a fitting monument to the pioneers of the area who built churches, schools and businesses. The structure is based upon a log cabin that was hand-crafted. It was moved many times before it was donated to Conroe in 1972. Unfortunately, the cabin began to deteriorate and was removed a few years later. Texas HVAC Company

Other notable sites include the Strake-Gray Oilfield House (located in the city) and the Roughneck Bunkhouse (located in the city).

Conroe’s train depot was destroyed in 1981

It was once the central hub of the Montgomery County rail network, welcoming travelers from all walks of the rail system. It hosted businesses, hotels, boarding houses, and other facilities, and it served as the county seat.
